NEXT STEPS
In case your family is approved you will receive a letter with detailed instructions of next steps to follow in order to successfully immigrate to Russia with the contacts of a person that will assist you throughout the whole process. In brief the next steps are:
- Having valid for at least 3 years passport for all family members
- Apostille birth certificates for all family members
- Apply for Russian visas for all family members in the Russian Consulate in your country of citizenship
- Fill out the quota application form for temporary residency permit
- Apply for the quota in a Russian region where you plan to reside
- Apply for the temporary residency permit once the quota is granted

Immigration quota is another option, the issue with quota is that it is more like a lottery and in order to try your chances you need to physically come to Russia to make the application. Program for large families allows you to get the pre-approval of your application and gives you the assuarance that you are included in the quota before you arrive
Purchasing real estate can qualify you for obtaining of permanent residency however there are certain criteria regarding it:
Moscow city - 50 million rubles
Far East regions and Crimea - 25 million rubles
All other Russian regions - 25 million rubles
This is the minimum price of real estate depending on the region and it is the cadastral value, not the market price. Moreover the purchased real estate should not be older than 2 years and you can apply for residency only after 1 year from the date of the purchase.

Under the “program for large families” the Russian government offers pre-approval for the quota application before you actually move to Russia as well as administrative support enabling you to navigate local burocratic issues successfully
Currently free courses are not available from the government but in the near future they will be available
In general it is possible to drive in Russia with your foreign drivers licence however they should be translated and notarized. Once you obtain permanent residency you will need to obtain a Russian drivers licence which will require you to pass the theory and driving exam. If your foreign drivers licence allows you to drive a van you can also drive a van in Russia
